“This book is a truly excellent and comprehensive guide for anyone who is capable and passionate enough about entering into relationships with clients where the focus is on the Absolute Self rather than the imagined, illusory sense of identity.”

— Mandi Solk, author of The Joy of No Self, and Self-Enquiry teacher based in Yorkshire, England

The idea that there is a “self”—separate and special and in charge of running “my” life—is purely an innocent mistake. It is simply a misunderstanding that there is some entity called “me” that exists.  It is simply not true.  As in, not true at all.  This misunderstanding is the bedrock of all human suffering and turmoil.

Through investigation, it appears that current coaching literature is founded on this false premise of “me”.  This book takes a profound look at the coach-client relationship and environment from a viewpoint other than the illusive “self,” or non-existent “me” . . . but from the timeless, unborn, Ground of Being.  This alternative way of identification offers an environment ripe for deep opening, authentic inquiry, raw vulnerability, profound clarity, and an inviting space for true liberation from a limited sense of personal identity. Why continue to rearrange that which is unreal?  Realize the futility of “rearranging the chairs on the Titanic”—rearranging the concepts and story of “me” and who I think I am—your freedom depends on it.

Screen Shot 2013-10-26 at 12.37.31 PMThis Space to See Reality model takes a close look at the timeless elements that permeate the Ground of Being, as an engagement with form and from formlessness.  It points to and discusses what this looks like in a manner that is applicable to any coaches’ practice, regardless of the content or topic(s) of the specific coaching subject.  The model will also outline the elements with great depth and detail, and include additional aspects to support coaches in their realistic application and implementation.  Although these elements are beyond any skill-set, tool, belief, strategy, education, or technique, this book invites coaches to feel into these components, and engage with each one in a way that can really be felt, experienced, and shared with his or her clients.

A fundamental shift in identification and the elements that ensue are paramount to any coaching environment.  The timeless elements have tremendous impact on a coaching environment, forming the foundation for effective human interaction and authentic transformation.  These unspoken elements exist while interacting with clients in a way that deeply touches and joins both coach and client from the very essence of the unseen and intangible.  This unification cultivates an environment and interaction with depth and richness supportive for clear-seeing and grounded movement.  This type of environment holds a container of space ripe for clarity and true freedom.  This new coaching model will help bridge the gap between current coaching practice(s) and these unseen elements that arise from a fundamental shift in identification.

This new coaching model is not another version of making a better me, thinking positively to be a stronger me, managing the me to a greater, more stable state, nor shuffling around beliefs, thoughts, and ideas to create an improved, more concrete version of this fragile flotation or me.  This is not about painting the inside of our prison walls of “who I imagine my self to be” another color and adding decorative glitter.  This is about seeing life free from this limited me identification as the basis of “who I am,” and coaching from the Ground of Being; this open space that you truly are.

“In Space to See Reality, Carole Griggs explains clearly and simply how we can meet more authentically when we go beyond identification with our conceptual minds. Therapists, teachers, and healers of all kinds will benefit from this fresh new perspective on how profound change happens when our egos get out of the way. An important book that begins a long overdue conversation between coaching and non-dual spirituality.”

Jeff Foster, author of The Deepest Acceptance
